Modifications are Minecraft mods or custom client that change the look and feel of the game, or how you play or can play. These modifications can either be used for optimization, customization and quality of life features, while external modifications give players an unfair advantage for other players in the server. (e.g. autoclickers, kill-aura, autoaim, etc.) Hypixel has an official list of allowed modifications, which you can view here.
Allowed Modifications[]
These mods listed below are allowed to be used on the server. Note though that regardless of whether they are allowed, all modications are still used at your own risk and the Hypixel Wiki takes no responsibility for users claiming to be bannned from these modifications. Generally, as long as these modifications do not impact the way you play or how you play, they're likely to be allowed. However, we recommend you to use them at your own risks.
- OptiFine: (Popular optimization mod with tons of quality of life features, shader support, and OptiFine capes)
- Sodium | Lithium | Phosphor: (A popular combination of Fabric mods, each providing optimization for rendering, loading, and lighting)
- Resource packs that change the textures of the game. (e.g. PVP packs, etc.)
- Shaders that add real-time directional light to the game. (e.g. Sildurs, BSL, etc.)
- Certain shaders that may allow you to see through areas you're not supposed to are not allowed.
- Mods that offer quality of life features such as listed below. (e.g. Lunar Client, Badlion Client, etc.)
- Mods that allow the usage of controllers such as Xbox or PlayStation controllers in order to play. If your mod contains an AutoAim, we require you to disable it. Using virtual reality headsets are an exception. (e.g. Controllable, etc.)
- Mods that offer cosmetic features that only players with the same mod enabled can see (e.g. OptiFine, ESSENTIAL, MinecraftCapes, etc.)
- Mods that increase your client's performance (e.g. OptiFine, (Sodium, Lithium, Phosphor), etc.)
- Mods that increase the brightness or gamma of your client (Using your monitor or external programs to increase brightness and gamma is also allowed)
- Mods that provide HUDs with information such as armor, status effects, coordinates, etc.
- Mods that allow the client to zoom their POV. (e.g. OptiFine, ESSENTIAL, etc.)
- AutoGG: (Automatically types GG for the player after a game finishes)
Disallowed Modifications[]
Below is a list of unallowed types of mods. These modifications give an unfair advantage for other players on the server and will get punished in a ban if are used on any scenario in the server.
- Mods that change the look of the game, allowing you to see through areas you're not supposed to (e.g. modeled texture packs, certain shaders, etc.)
- Mods that offer unfair features such as: (e.g. AutoClicking, KillAura, AutoAim, etc.)
- Mods that provide a miniature map HUD (Any allowed mods that provide this feature must be disabled in the server)
- Using macros which are essentially a list of commands that are run by pressing a single key
- Using AI-controlled bots, especially when using unfair modifications.
- External programs or mods that change the way data is sent to the server (e.g. VPNs)
- Mods that change the field of view of the player (e.g. Perspective or Freelook mods, etc.)
Punishments[]
Currently the Hypixel Staff team does not disclose the way in which it punishes users, however a list of punishments that result in bans, and a list that result in mutes, can be determined from the appeals list of punishments and what they mean.
